Course Objectives

l  To compute inductance/capacitance of transmission lines and to understand the concepts of GMD/GMR.

l  To analyze the parameters related to short, medium and long length transmission lines, their models and performance.

l  To understand the effect of travelling waves on transmission lines.

l  To study the factors affecting the performance of transmission lines and power factor improvement methods

l  To calculate sag and tension of transmission lines as well as to study the performance of overhead insulators.
